Join us for either one of these workshops to get brains and singing voices back in gear for another exciting season of choral music; focus will be on good singing technique and vocal care, with some repertoire to bring voices together.

This is a Cultural Days project, so we are making it an admission by donation event. However, we will ask you to register, in order that we know our capacity and can have enough music copies ready for all participants.
Brigid Coult trained and worked in England until coming to Canada in 1982. She has been a member of many of Vancouver’s choirs, including The Gallery Singers, the Vancouver Bach Choir, Phoenix Chamber Choir and Elektra. She has been the director of Richmond Chorus since 1994, and Director of Music at St Mary’s Kerrisdale Anglican Church until her retirement last year. She has also served on diocesan and national church committees. Brigid was President of the British Columbia Choral Federation for 13 years, and has been its Project Manager since 2006. She has served on the Board of the Association of Canadian Choral Conductors (now Choral Canada) and was involved in the planning and execution of the World Symposium on Choral Music (III) held in Vancouver in 1993, the World of Children’s Choirs – 2001, and the BCCF/ACCC ChorPodium conference, held in Victoria in May 2006. She has served as an adjudicator and choral clinician for festivals in western Canada.
George “Geordie” Roberts is a graduate of the School of Music UBC and the Vancouver Academy of Music where he was privileged to study under Phyllis Mailing. He is member of the Vancouver Chamber Choir and an instructor in the School of Performing Arts at Capilano University. He has been the Co-ordinator of Music at Highlands United Church, North Vancouver since 1992. Originally from Enderby, Geordie makes his home in North Vancouver with his wife, Frances (a choir guru in her own right), where they have cheerfully raised three wonderfully tall and musical sons.
