Podium is Choral Canada’s national biennial bilingual choral conference and festival and brings together hundreds of delegates and thousands of singers and audience members from across the country and beyond who are passionate about group singing. The 2026 edition, co-hosted by Choral Canada and the British Columbia Choral Federation (BCCF), will be held in Victoria, British Columbia from May 14-17, 2026 (the Victoria Day long weekend).

Planning has begun and we are seeking volunteers from British Columbia to fill the positions of CO-CHAIRS and more from across the country to join the 2026 ORGANIZING COMMITTEE! 

Call for PODIUM 2026 CO-CHAIRS
We are looking for two (2) individuals from British Columbia to volunteer for the positions of Co-Chairs. The Co-Chairs are responsible for leading the PODIUM 2026 Organizing Committee, working closely with Podium staff, and providing significant time and expertise to ensure the success of the event.

The time commitment is from September 2024 – August 2026, with an average of 5-10 hours of work per week. Co-Chairs are also required to participate in virtual weekly meetings and attend PODIUM 2026 as a delegate (either virtually or in-person).

Call for 2026 ORGANIZING COMMITTEE MEMBERS
We are also seeking volunteers from British Columbia and across the country to join the Podium Organizing Committee. The committee is a working group responsible for planning and managing the PODIUM 2026 conference and festival. Committee members are responsible for chairing sub-committees, working closely with the Podium Co-Chairs and staff, participating in virtual monthly meetings and attending PODIUM 2026 as a delegate (either virtually or in-person). Areas of responsibility include marketing, virtual conference, artistic programming, conference programming, special projects and more.

Members of the Organizing Committee will be asked to commit from October 2024 – June 2026. On top of monthly meetings, the number of volunteer hours depends on the tasks taken on by the committee member.

Please include a brief summary of your background and experience, describing why you would like to be on the PODIUM 2026 Organizing Committee as a Co-Chair or committee member.
