The Victoria Philharmonic Choir marks its 20th season with a special event: Felix Mendelssohn's dramatic oratorio, Elijah, featuring renowned Canadian operatic baritone Russell Braun in the title role. First performed at the Birmingham Festival  in 1846, the work tells the extraordinary story of the biblical prophet, with battling deities and Elijah's final ascent to heaven in a flaming chariot! Peter Butterfield conducts the 75 member choir, a large orchestra, and four noted soloists, who also include Melody Courage, Emma Parkinson and Jean-Philippe Lazure.
