The Bluebirds are looking for a soprano, alto and a bass to round out our Vancouver-based SATB a cappella quartet.

We are a fun and friendly new group that loves to sing and perform. Our goal with this group is to perform regularly at care homes in the Vancouver area. We will be singing an eclectic mix of genres: golden oldies, pop, rock, jazz, blues, Broadway, world music, etc.

We are looking for a soprano, an alto and a bass who have good voices and are comfortable singing the occasional solo. You don’t need to be able to sight read, but you will need to be able to read music and learn your part on your own. The difficulty of the music will range from moderate to somewhat challenging.

We will meet once a week to rehearse in the West End, day to be determined by group consensus. There will be no membership fee, but the cost of sheet music and any incidental costs will be shared by the members. We will do our best to keep costs low! Once we have built up a repertoire, we plan on performing about once a month. We may also build up a repertoire of Christmas music and perform over the holiday season.

We are really hoping to find fellow singers who love hanging out in a tight-knit group, making beautiful music, and giving back to the community!

Auditions will be held in May/June at a West End location. You will be asked to sing one or two songs of your choosing, a cappella, which you feel reflect your personality and highlight your strengths as a singer.
