If you love to sing and would like to try out our non-auditioned Community Choir, you can join us on September 10, at 7 Pm in St Mary's Church on Elgin Rd. You'll have a 3 week free trial before deciding on membership. Bring your enthusiasm: we'll provide the music and friendliness.
We will be performing this exciting concert in our Choral Bridges series in early December (and possibly early January). It includes several very new offerings, "The Dreamweaver Suite" by Ola Gjello, "Iesous Ahatonnia' " by Sarah Quartel, and "There is no Rose" by Ramona Luengen, as well as Sammi Yoik songs and well-known Norwegian folk songs in both Norwegian and English.
As a choir, we are striving to perform music by living composers, Canadian, female and under-represented minorities, as well as some choral favorites from cultures within our community and beyond. We welcome adult singers from a huge spectrum of musical backgrounds. Some have never sung in a choir before, some have sung professionally. Most are in between. We provide vocal tracks for SATB voice parts, and excellent leadership and voice technique by our incredibly gifted director, Kathryn Whitney.
We practice every Tuesday evening from 7 to 9 PM, and you'll have the ability to follow from home via streaming, if the need arises. Contact Norma Jee, newcombesingerslibrary@gmail.com to arrange music or enquire further.
