Chorfest 2019 Participants’ Guide: Getting Here & Getting Around

Due to our mountainous location, boat traffic to Kimberley is currently non-existent. However, arriving in Kimberley by air or land couldn’t be easier!

Kimberley is conveniently situated just 15 minutes from the Canadian Rockies International Airport which has direct service to Calgary, Vancouver and Kelowna via Air Canada, Westjet and Pacific Coastal.  As there is no public transit available, take advantage of the airport to Kimberley shuttle option on your registration form.

If you decide to make the beautiful drive to Kimberley, you will find us on HWY #95A just half an hour North of HWY #3 or two and a half hours South of HWY #1.

Be mindful of the fact that Kimberley is in the Mountain Time Zone – one hour ahead of the rest of BC!

Walking around the Chorfest Venue

There are extensive wooded walking trails close by at the Kimberley Nordic Club (2km from our Chorfest venue) as well as the Kimberley Nature Park, the largest municipal park in B.C. covering over 800 hectares of forested crown land. Bring your hiking shoes for a morning or break time walk.

Explore Downtown Kimberley

The core of Kimberley contains a wide selection of boutique-style shops and restaurants in the outdoor walking mall that we call “The Platzl”.  The Platzl is about 2km from the Chorfest adult venue and hotel, just a pleasant 30 minute walk DOWN to this interesting area. But remember, that you will need to climb back UP the 120m elevation gain to get back to the Conference Centre and Trickle Creek lodge.
