I have very fond memories of Joyce playing the piano as my friends and I sang for hours on end and through many tours. Her sence of humour will stay with me forever. Will Miss you Joyce. Lots of Love

Choral music brought Joyce and I together. Through the creation of the Vancouver Bach Choir children's and youth programs and the continuing growth of the BC Choral Federation, we developed a close working relationship as well as a wonderful friendship that deepened through the years. I valued her for her indefatigable energy, enthusiasm, fierce determination, and positive outlook - her belief that any worthwhile project could be accomplished with enough effort and planning. She had a creative spark that enabled her to come up with inspired ideas, and had a wealth of knowledge and contacts to back them up. I will miss her sharp wit, an incredible eye for detail, and her freely-offered encouragement and support.

As BCCF secretary, I would submit the meeting minutes to Joyce for vetting and invariably receive a response promptly with her "suggestions" in italics, and her trademark JOM signature. It was always a good day when I could quickly track down the line or passage that she needed from my notes or files to fill in an application, as usually we were up against a looming deadline.
Joyce loved a love story. During my own "courtship", Joyce would often recount stories of her own courtship with Gerry. My "lovely man" as she always called my now husband, and I will miss her very much. As others have said, think how well the heavenly chorus is singing now!

To the special messages I must add my own expression of sadness. Joyce touched so many of us with her support and guidance.
Numerous anecdotes and experiences with her come to mind; from her early support of our fledgling children's choirs in Mission (Mission Community Choristers), through years of events and eventually to her sharing in our closing celebrations. With Joyce's dedicated support in the background, many children in Mission experienced the joy of singing together.
What a rich legacy she has left us!
